Magdelena lives here in the Bay Area, she specializes in portraits, figures and landscapes, she also primarily works in oils, watercolors, charcoal and graphite.
It was well into her adulthood that she realized she wanted a career in art. After earning a B.A. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, she stayed away from drawing and painting for over a decade. In 2011 she started taking workshops with renowned California artist Carolyn Lord and Lynn Sanguedolce. Encouraged by these teachers to continue, in 2015 she took a workshop with Andrew Ameral at the Golden Gate Atelier in Oakland California. There she realized she had finally found her niche in Classical Realism. Magdelena
Since then, she has continued to develope her techniques and style in all of her favorite media. Her goal is always to push herself into constructive comfort, specifically the discomfort of trying things that are new and therefore difficult for her. She finds that her growth when she does the scary things in life, and nowhere is more true than in her art career.
